Whitmer’s Not the Good Democratic Sheep Her Party Needs Her to Be

The Democrats have certain expectations within their party. Listen to Biden, support liberal agendas, and keep everyone in lockdown through ridiculous COVID mandates.

For a while, Gretchen Whitmer was the perfect Democrat. She showed she was a good sheep and kept the state of Michigan in lockdown. She issued mandate after mandate to exert as much control as she could over citizens.

However, Whitmer isn’t one to take direction well. She’d rather be the one giving direction.

The only way that she’s really a good Democrat is by living the motto of “rules for thee but not for me.”

In the past week or so, we’ve really seen her flail and let her party down.

The good little Democrats wear their masks. And, good little Democrats support Terry McAuliffe for governor of Virginia. After all, if he doesn’t win the gubernatorial election, it could be the nail in the liberal coffin…and the Dems want to avoid that at all costs.

So, Michigan’s governor headed to D.C. for a campaign event in McAuliffe’s honor.

On the Friday before the event, Whitmer was spotted at a swanky DC bar. And, she had no mask in sight. Masks? Yeah, right. She has no problem telling others to wear a mask, but she might smear her red lipstick if she wears one. So, she simply violated DC Mayor Muriel Bowser’s indoor mask mandate without thinking twice.

The Beacon was quick to note that the indoor mandate states that masks have to be worn if people are not actively eating or drinking. The news outlet reported “Whitmer was not doing either while maskless. Several individuals standing near the governor were wearing masks.”

But, no one expects anything less of Whitmer. She is a big fan of the “rules for thee but not for me.” Others can wear masks. She’ll keep her lipstick intact so that she can smile for the paparazzi.

Now, Whitmer was supposed to have big plans on Saturday. She was going to be knocking on doors throughout Arlington County, Virginia. It was all part of her trip to make sure that she could help the other Dems secure Terry McAuliffe’s victory over Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin.

This is where Whitmer let her party down. It’s why she’s not the good little Democrat her party needs her to be. She had a “schedule change” according to her campaign spokesperson.

Not cool.

And, this comes after she left in the middle of a crisis within her own state. Campaigning for a Virginia candidate is more important than what’s happening in Michigan. Gustavo Portelo, the Michigan Republican Party Communications Director was quick to criticize, saying “People literally don’t have access to clean and safe water but she has time to campaign for @TerryMcAuliffe? Dereliction of duty.”

Apparently, she didn’t have time for that, either. She blew it off because of a change to her schedule. Her office wouldn’t say what those changes were. However, it was noted that she had some “high-level  conversations” scheduled with some “key decision-makers.” That sounds code for the fact that she didn’t want to walk around a variety of neighborhoods in heels.

She’s just full of disappointment. She’s been disappointing Michigan residents for over a year with her ridiculous lockdown measures. And, now, she’s letting the city of Benton Harbor deal with a lead water crisis on their own. As for McAuliffe, well, he better knock on his own doors because Whitmer doesn’t want to play with the other sheep.
