Chicago 911 Dispatcher Declares ‘All Hell Has Broken Loose’

When you work as a 911 dispatcher, it’s kind of like being a therapist; you hear some of the worst stories on the face of the earth, you have to listen more than talk, and you need to ask the right questions. The job also provides you with a unique perspective of some of the best and worst parts of your municipality. You get the Good Samaritan calls about disabled vehicles or someone passing a fire. Then, you also get the calls of someone hiding during a break-in, or the crying call of a kid finding an overdosed parent on the floor.

In cities like Chicago and other Democrat-led cities, you get more of the heartbreaking calls than the ones that restore your faith in humanity. Keith Thornton is one of those dispatchers, and he has had enough of keeping silent. The tragedies he is hearing about on a daily basis have become too much for this man to handle, and he wants his beloved Chicago to return to the beautiful city it once was.

Speaking with Fox News Channel he said, “What’s going on in Chicago? All hell has broken loose. It’s been shenanigans and it’s just nonstop day after day. It doesn’t matter if it’s morning time, evening time, whatever, at all hours of the day there is a massive amount of crime taking place in the city of Chicago. It’s horrendous. People are being shot, killed; it doesn’t matter what age you are; it doesn’t matter if you are female or male anymore. But what’s more, just horrible is the lack of leadership, the failure of leadership throughout this entire city of Chicago. It’s ridiculous because it does not have to be this way.”

This is a very powerful statement, and he’s completely correct. Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot has been pushing her leftist agenda and progressive police reform so hard, she has forgotten to take a real look at what it has done for the city and its people; absolutely nothing. The idea of fewer police officers and the installation of a revolving door at the local jail only made sense to Mayor Lightfoot and a few hair-brained Democrats. Somehow, she sold the city on this idea, and now the people are paying the price for these ideas.

Sure, the left-wing support came pouring in. It was an innovative, fresh, and ‘long overdue’ idea that could revitalize and encourage the people of Chicago. It would be a hand-up to minorities by not punishing them for the rest of their lives over a simple mistake (part of their actual argument for these changes). They grossly overlooked human emotion and how humans will take advantage of a situation; as the old saying goes ‘give an inch take a yard’.

Take a yard they sure did. With police grossly understaffed and underfunded, high-end retailers became a prime target. Did Mayor Lightfoot express condolences for the losses for these businesses? Did she provide steps or help to assist these proprietors in not being a victim? No way. She instead blamed them for not hiring extra security, locking up merchandise, and other victim-shaming tactics. She took no responsibility for the citizens and visitors of Chicago doing the wrong thing.

While the residents of Chicago hope and pray for change, this dispatcher is letting people know the harsh realities of living in a Democrat-controlled city. His efforts to keep the people informed and to try to help the city repair itself are noble. Unfortunately, Chicago is stuck with Lori Lightfoot as Mayor, and it is doubtful she will go anywhere any time soon unless she chooses to. For now, the citizens and proprietors should be advocating for better gun policies (like letting people legally arm themselves) and investing in stronger security measures. Remember, locks keep honest people honest.
