Despite being a walking, talking, shining example of all that is evil with the Democratic Party in the U.S., Hillary Clinton must lead a sheltered life. Her claims and attempts to attack people for the simplest of things have gotten incredibly bold as of late, and at many points, it seems as if even she doesn’t know what she’s doing.
In this case, it would seem that she’s so sheltered she doesn’t recognize a simple sports symbol that has been profiled in baseball, football, and even basketball. The simple gesture of raising the right arm and pointing with their index finger extended has been the “number one” symbol for decades. When a group of Trump supporters greeted him with it on September 17th, Clinton was appalled. Instead of taking the symbolism as intended, she has now taken it to a whole other extreme.
Speaking in Austin, TX on September 23rd as she attended the Texas Tribune Festival, she launched her attack on Trump and his supporters.
“I remember as a young student, you know, trying to figure out how did people get basically drawn in by Hitler. How did that happen? I’d watch newsreels and I’d see this guy standing up there ranting and raving, and people shouting and raising their arms. I thought, ‘What’s happened to these people?’ You saw the rally in Ohio the other night, Trump is there ranting and raving for more than an hour, and you have these rows of young men with their arms raised. I thought, ‘What is going on?’”
This speech drawing the comparison between Trump and Hitler is far more than the American people need. It polarizes the situation even further and gets the people riled up into a frenzy about the potential that Trump could be just as evil as she is claiming. This very optic was something many people in Trump’s party were very concerned about.
The one finger up “salute” is something that has now transcended sports, and has been picked up by QAnon, with the symbolism of “Where We Go One We Go All”. Trump’s speech made certain to connect with the people in his message. “My fellow citizens, this incredible journey we’re on together has only just begun, and it is time to start talking about greatness for our country again. We are one movement, one people, one family, and one glorious American nation.”
Naturally, this speech and their reaction were the fuel for Clinton’s fire and allowed her to burn that image and mindset in the brains of many Americans. The subject of trying to destroy Trump at every turn is one Clinton is all too familiar with. Ever since they campaigned for President back in 2016, she has been trying to string this kind of comparison at every turn.
Clinton’s hatred of Trump knows no bounds, and her supporters are eager to follow her lead and chastise anyone they think is hateful too. Never mind the hatred that they spew at everyone else around them and then claim to be the victims anytime someone responds. No matter how dumb Biden is, Clinton is 100 times eviler, and her supporters are even more rabid. How someone like her was even allowed to run for President with her hateful ways is inconceivable.
For now, she will continue to try and draw the lines between QAnon and the Nazis; Trump and Hitler. Spitting hatred and evilness is something that she is good at, and something she works hard at. Unfortunately for the rest of us, it’s also something that causes significant problems in America, and it’s something we really could do without. Maybe if Clinton learned to swallow her pride and act like an adult the American people could come around to despise her, and not hate her. Even Bill.
