Senate Democrats see that their time is up. With the shift in the balance of power coming on January 1st, they want to use the lame-duck Congressional sessions to get any last things through before they lose their opportunity. First up on the block is fulfilling then President Obama’s nightmare Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
These illegal aliens or so-called “dreamers” are hoping the Senate can get 10 Republicans to cross and join them in passing the DREAM Act. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) joined Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL), Alex Padilla (D-CA), and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) as they led a small press conference.
Durbin told reporters “We know that it’s important that we pass the DREAM Act in December of this year … when we return from Thanksgiving because if the House moves as we think it might, politically, it becomes increasingly difficult after the first of next year to take up this issue.”
If enacted, this plan would allow 3.3 million illegal aliens already enrolled and eligible who are in the program to get green cards and remain in the country permanently. With those, they could get naturalized American citizenship in due time. Schumer has gone on record as suggesting that American business needs these workers. In his mind, a consistent flow of illegals is needed to keep business going and replenish native-born American birth rates.
His simple-mindedness is forgetting that we already have more people than we need in this country. Cities are becoming far too overcrowded, and people are having a tough time finding work. It’s not like we have tons of no-skill jobs begging to be filled, empty homes that can take these people.
If enacted, this would cost the American taxpayer a minimum of $115 billion with Obamacare now being opened to the freshly legalized illegal aliens.
Padilla took things further than Schumer by saying “DREAMers deserve nothing less. It is not right that they live year after year, in fear of deportation, after all, they have done to make our nation greater.” Unfortunately, that’s the reality when you commit a crime. It’s time for people to wake up and smell the coffee and understand that the illegal aliens don’t need to be here, and they don’t need to be given a handout.
If the DREAM Act passes, the level of illegal immigration we see now will be nothing in comparison to where it will go in the coming years. The people who will claim sob stories to be classified as a DREAMer will be never-ending. Yet the left keeps pressing for them at every turn.
For years now, Durbin and RINO Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have been pushing for the DREAM Act to pass despite lacking the support in the Senate to get amnesty passed. While numerous multinational corporations are backing their efforts, many of these same companies have been found to be employing illegal immigrants.
The same groups who have been behind the force for this to pass want to artificially inflate the US labor market. For them, they can drive up the number of consumers, send housing prices even higher than they already are, and still keep their wages lower than dirt. It also explains why companies like Amazon, Google, and Microsoft have been behind the scenes doing whatever they can to help since they love the criminally low wages illegals will work for.
Between 2012 and 2018 53,000 illegal aliens were given citizenship thanks to the DREAM Act who already had prior arrest records for things like murder, kidnapping, rape, child pornography, and sex crimes. These illegals aren’t dreams for American citizens, rather they are nightmares brought to life.
