Locking arms, big business, and elected Democrats are taking on a new campaign to ramp up legal immigration and make what are not illegal immigrants into legal workers. These groups are working together to put pressure on President Biden to force-feed illegals through the legal channels to get people employed.
Sen. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM) told Politico “There’s no question that addressing our broken immigration system in America would address many workforce shortages. There’s employment needed right now. Jobs are available.”
This is the same battle cry the Democrats and their supporters have been taking up for years. Now energy companies taking up the top slots on the donor boards for people like Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Raphael Warnock (D-GA), and Joe Manchin (D-WV), among others. This means they are openly buying their way into support of issues that greatly impact the American people. Getting this change won’t be easy either.
Rep. Marc Veasey (D-TX) also spoke with Politico about this push to change the way immigration is being handled here. “The permits that ranchers use, agriculture, the permits that hospitality use — those same immigration permits are not the ones that are needed for people to have temporary work visas in the oil and gas sector. You ain’t unleashing a thing unless you do something about immigration reform.”
As it stands, the US has been handing over more than a million green cards to foreign workers every year. These decades-long immigrations are only the icing on the cake of the millions of illegal aliens and border jumpers being added to the American workforce every year.
Despite this push by the left to make room for the illegals to flood the nation “properly” there is still a massive gap between the pre-COVID and current employment levels amongst the middle class. With the maneuvering of over two million illegals into American jobs since 2019, they have eroded many of these middle-class jobs across the nation. Yet the Democrats are claiming that the competition against them is coming from the necessity to fill semiconductor manufacturing openings and other high-paying jobs that are being piped overseas.
Another group is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is proposing radical ideas like opening the floodgates on the visa caps for the H-1B visa program, which is used by many employers to outsource American jobs to lower-wage nations like India. This is very similar to a February initiative pushed by Democrats that would allow companies to import as many foreign workers as they need, with no concerns about the impact on the American workforce, or their wages.
Getting more people here has always been a problem. From a lack of infrastructure where they want to go, to not having enough jobs to keep them employed, there has always been a difficulty. Thankfully, capitalism in the US has allowed many of them to come here and flourish with little difficulty. It is that same capitalism that allows them to sponsor relatives to come here and get green cards and work. This chain migration caused by the need for employees only serves to make the job market more difficult to keep balanced.
If the left wants to bring in more illegals through suddenly legal channels, then they need to bring back the American jobs that can support American workers. As it is many farmers here in the US are being forced to sell, for foreign corporations to buy them up and take over their corner of the industry. This needs to end, and instead, we need more American farms. We need more American factories and more American contracts.
Until we have Americans completely taken care of, stop asking others to come to fix the problem that they keep creating.
