French President Emmanuel Macron’s decision to raise the pension age from 62 to 64 for the people of France has been incredibly unpopular. While he believes it is one of the best ways for his country to deal with inflation, the people of France aren’t having it, and rightly so.
However, taking to the streets to protest is one thing. Doing this without violence is nearly impossible these days. Taking the message to the streets without proper road closure can present not only incredible dangers to people protesting but also to those not involved. For some of the boneheaded protestors in France, that’s exactly what they did. Sitting down in high-vis orange vests, they plopped down on the motorway and shouted protest chants.
Quickly growing tired of these actions, motorists gave these protestors the same treatment the police had given them in 2022 as they dragged them off the roadway. While doing little more than arguing and making it hard to move them, these protestors were your typical whiney liberals who didn’t weigh more than 120 lbs. So for the bigger and stronger motorists trying to clear the road, they presented little challenges.
Here in the US, we need to take a page from the book of the French. The next time the BLM groups or whoever tries to block down the roadways, we need to simply grab them by the collar and drag them off the road. This should be a relatively easy way to clear the road in record time. Enough is enough of these acts of “civil disobedience.” It’s a crime, pure and simple, and we the American people don’t need to take it!
