Even mainstream media outlets are growing frustrated with Kamala Harris’s impression of the “invisible woman.” Harris has been the presumed Democrat Party nominee for almost three weeks and has still never answered a single question from a reporter. One CNN political commentator ripped into Harris this week for essentially running a repeat of Joe Biden’s basement campaign in 2020.
Chris Cillizza is a longtime CNN host and the network’s former editor-at-large. He expressed the media’s growing frustration that Harris is openly avoiding the press.
Kamala Harris has been the de facto presidential nominee for 2 weeks now.
In that time, as best as I can tell, she has done zero media interviews and held zero press conferences (or even taken random questions from reporters).

He’s not wrong. The Harris campaign announced on Thursday, August 8th that Harris wouldn’t be giving any interviews or press conferences until after Labor Day. Which would mean she would have been the nominee for six weeks without Americans ever hearing from her in an unscripted venue. The Harris campaign still hasn’t listed a single policy on their website.
Imagine being a Democrat voter right now. You’d have a nominee for President of the United States who no one voted for, and who is a blank slate as far as policy proposals. That doesn’t sound fun.
The campaign planes for both Harris and Sen. JD Vance, the Republican vice-presidential nominee, were both on the tarmac in Minneapolis this week. Vance took the opportunity to walk over and talk to the reporters embedded with the Harris campaign. He joked with the reporters that he thought they might be lonely since Kamala never answers questions.
The exchange between Vance and the Harris campaign reporters lasted about 3 minutes. So, those embedded reporters have now spent more time talking with JD Vance than they have with the candidate they’re covering. What do you think is happening? Is Harris afraid to talk to the press, or is she just not bright enough to take unscripted questions?
