No matter how horrible the mainstream media has gotten, MSNBC and especially Rachel Maddow have always taken things a step or two too far. In her anti-Trump rhetoric, she has gone on the offensive time and again to go after him, no matter how strong her lie was. On October 18th, she gave ABC’s “The View” her unbridled opinion on the situation.
“If you listen to what Trump is saying, you don’t sort of regard him as a spectacle, but listen to what he’s saying, he’s basically portraying a future for America, if he is put back in the White House, in which we don’t have another election after that. Because ‘the elections are all rigged.’ That the democratic process can’t be trusted, that Congress should just work for him. The Justice Department should just work for him. That’s a strong man form of government.”
She went on to allege that Trump would put MSNBC on trial to execute them for treason.
Now, there are a lot of things wrong with that statement, but let’s address the elephant in the room; THE FIRST AMENDMENT WOULD PREVENT THAT!!! She knows, we know, even Trump knows, nothing she said was treasonous. Slanderous? Absolutely. Offensive? Possibly. Did it make her look classless? Yup.
Instead of trying every trick in the book to attack Trump and to try and besmirch his good name, she could try sticking to the facts. The problem is that liberals like her don’t know where the lies and embellishments end and the truth begins. Painting him as Hitler didn’t work in 2016, and it wasn’t what removed him in 2020. Try something more authentic Maddow.
