If you haven’t heard, incumbent President Joe Biden isn’t doing too well in the polls, and for a number of reasons. And that’s precisely why even left-leaning pundit and former Clinton adviser Dick Morris thinks that Biden will actually drop out of the race soon.
Morris recently appeared on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America” with host Rob Finnerty. Most of the discussion revolved around a piece that was published in the New York Post Monday and written by Diana Glebova, suggesting that Biden didn’t have much longer to go before he would relinquish his title as presidential candidate.
Finnerty began by reading a small clip of that piece.
“Morris suggested that the Democratic National Committee may see the writing on the wall and refuse to give Biden delegates, opening the door to other Democrats such as California Gov. Gavin Newsom and transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.”
This, as Finnerty pointed out, is clearly because Biden is no longer popular among the American electorate.
To this, Morris agreed and added it was precisely why he sees the DNC making Biden drop out just days before the convention and popping in a more popular candidate.
But as Morris says, it wouldn’t be quite as simple as all that.
“The way they would do it is that Biden would run in all of these primaries, and since he’s largely unopposed, the assumption is that he’d win and have Biden delegates at the Convention.”
But then Morris says that Biden would keep those delegates only until just a few days before the convention. “Then he would announce he’s not running, release his delegates, and there would be a floor fight for the nomination, but at least there wouldn’t be a long primary battle.”
He explained that if they did this, it would ensure that a primary fight that could harm the eventual nominee wouldn’t happen. They can’t have candidates going out on the road and talking about reparations, transgenderism, etc.
“So they want to do it quickly, painlessly. Euthanasia.”
Who knows if this is actually the way it will go down. But I could see how it might look good at the moment to the Dems…
