Democrats and their media lapdogs continuously lecture us that voter fraud in America is a “myth.” If that’s true, why do Democrats keep getting arrested for voter fraud all the time in states that bother to pay attention? The latest case involves the Democratic County Supervisor in Buchanan County, Virginia. He’s been arrested on 82 felony counts related to conspiracy, voter fraud and more.
Virginia State Police say they’ve been investigating allegations against Trey Adkins, the Knox District Supervisor for Buchanan County, since 2021. This week, Adkins was charged with 34 counts of false statements and election fraud, 11 counts of absentee voting fraud, 11 counts of forging public records, embezzling public funds, three counts of conspiracy to make a false statement relating to election fraud, and much more.
Police say Adkins broke Virginia election laws by personally engaging in an illegal ballot-harvesting scheme. The State Police allege that Adkins used the same tactics to first win elected office in Buchanan County in 2011 and again in his 2015 and 2019 reelection campaigns.
The scheme allegedly involved hundreds of absentee ballots in a rural county where local elections are often decided by fewer than 200 votes. Prosecutors say Adkins would show up at people’s homes with absentee voting applications—and ballots—and then ensured that people voted for him as he was registering them.
State police have also charged Adkin’s aunt with helping him with the voter fraud scheme. Sherry Lynn Bailey, the aunt, also faces multiple counts of election fraud, conspiracy, and making false statements. That seems like an awful lot of charges for a crime that is supposed to be non-existent, according to Democrats.
If the problems are this rampant even in small counties, then America still has a long way to go before being able to trust our elections again.
