Soros-Linked Group Pushes Biden Admin to Nix Gas-Powered Lawn Equipment

By now, you’ve heard all about the political left’s push to “go green” and ban anything that’s fossil fuel-powered. You know, for the sake of the environment. But that’s not the reason one group is advocating for all gas-powered lawn equipment to be outlawed.

According to a recent memo from the Center for Progressive Reform titled “Safe and Sound: How the Environmental Protection Agency Can Protect us from Dangerous Noise,” the real problem is that lawn equipment that is gas-powered is also typically noisy.

Authors James Goodwin, Sasha Kliger, and Will Dobbs-Allsopp claim that noise from lawn equipment is not only annoying but also causes dangers to both physical and mental health.

And so, they propose bringing back a 1972 law that will eliminate the use of noisy machinery for lawns and home maintenance.

That law, known as the Noise Control Act of 1972, was stripped of its funding in the 1980s by then-President Ronald Reagan. While it’s technically still on the books, it’s not been enforced and has been pretty much dormant since then.

Of course, the group is begging the EPA to bring it back to reduce “noise pollution.”

Also unsurprising is the fact that the authors tried to claim that noise pollutes low-income and minority communities more.

“Like every environmental injustice, this one hits low-wealth communities and communities of color particularly hard, compounding other burdens and harms.”

Naturally, they then suggest using electric versions of these mostly necessary tools instead since they are typically quieter than their fossil fuel counterparts. According to them, using electric leaf blowers, air compressors, lawnmowers, and even buses, trucks, and snow plows will provide for much safer and less noisy communities nationwide.

Oh, and it will help the environment, too.

It’s also important to point out here that CPR is working on this effort in partnership with Governing for Impact, which is known to be backed by none other than anti-American billionaire George Soros.

So, if there weren’t any concerns about this being politically motivated before, there sure are now.
